LA CANCION:
"Super Trouper" es el trigesimo octavo sencillo de ABBA y fue el sencillo homónimo para su septimo album de estudio de 1980, Super Trouper. Fue acoplado con un tema de estilo Folk Medieval, "El Flautista" como su lado B.
El tema fue escrito por Benny Andersson y Björn Ulvaeus y la voz principal fue encarnada por Frida. Con el titulo trabajado como "Blinka Lilla Stjärna" y fue concebida en un pocos días. El nombre "Super Trouper", significa en francés el grupo de artistas de teatro de una pieza musical, también se refiere a los proyectores gigantescos usados en los conciertos de estadio y televisíon. Éste paradigma se ve reflejado en la lírica, es presentado como feliz y optimista, pero contenía un matiz indirecto subyacente a la tristeza de una actriz cansada de la rutina diaría y que recibe la llamada de su amor, lo cual le alegra y levanta el ánimo y se compromete a hacer el mejor show en esa noche en honor a su amado.
La segunda traza, "El Flautista", con una lírica profunda y un estilo Folk Medieval, fue basada en la novela de Stephen King de 1978, "The Stand", nos cuenta la historia de un carismático flautista que se vuelve un lider autoritario y temido por todos y que toca la flauta atrayendo a todos los que están a su alrededor para mantenerlos bajo su control, bailando bajo la luna.
"Super Trouper" demostró ser otro hit acertado para ABBA, proveyendo al grupo su noveno y último Numero uno en el Reino Unido, mientras también encabezó las trazas en once países. En los Estados Unidos, el sencillo logró encabezar en los U.S. Hot Dance Club Play Chart.
