LA CANCION:
"Hasta Luego" es el undecimo sencillo de ABBA grabada en 1974 y a la vez el primer sencillo del tercer album homonimo "ABBA" lanzado en 1975. Fue apoyado por ela balada melódica "He Estado Esperándote", también una nueva composición presente en dicho álbum.
"Hast Luego" fue escrito por Björn Ulvaeus y Benny Andersson, con el acoplamiento vocal incomparable de Agnetha y Frida. ABBA y su gerente decidieron liberar este número en vez del más seguro "He Estado Esperándote" o "S.O.S." porque ellos quisieron mostrar sus estilos diferentes de música, después del aparecido hit "Honey Honey", esto fue pensado ya que el tipo de ritmo que remecía las pistas mundiales y que coronaba los Charts, era un estilo golpeado, rockero y potente, era algo evocador a su "Waterloo" eurovisivo-victorioso, creyendo que sería una buena opción, "Hasta Luego", tendría una mayor posibilidad de convertirse en un éxito.
Como pasó, Tanto tiempo desde "Waterloo" hacia adelante, el sencillo a pesar de ser un gran hit, dio su funcionamiento en los Charts de manera irregular. Aunque éste alcanzara los Top 10 en Suecia, Australia y Austria, y alcanzara su punto máximo en el No 11 en Alemania Occidental, otros países no se impresionaron con ella.
En el Reino Unido éste falló en los Charts. Esto preocupó al grupo, al creer que solamente estaban destinados a ser solamente un grupo eurovisivo, cómo ocurría con la mayoría de los otros ganadores anteriores del certamen. Sin embargo este sencillo, logró formalizar el futuro estilo de ABBA y de posicionarlo en el mercado mundial, expresado en los otros sencillos de ese periodo en adelante, comenzaron a mostrar signos de mejora, apreciación, disposición y construcción musical, melódica, lirica y expositiva y condujeron a la dominación eventual de ABBA en los Charts mundiales.
