LA CANCION:

"Dum Dum Diddle" es el vigesimo primero sencillo de ABBA y fue uno de los temas más agraciados de su cuarto disco registrado en 1976, "Arrival". Fue escrita por Stig Anderson, Benny y Björn y fue liberado en Enero del 77. El plomo vocal fue encarnado por la excepcional conjunción vocal de Agnetha y Frida. Fue acoplado con el tema de estilo Soft Rock "Tigre" como su lado B, que también aparece en el mismo album.

El tema, con una introducción de estilo Fanfare, con una mezcla carnavalezca de felicidad y frescura hasta el limite máximo, y un titulo sin un sentido aparente, en realidad nos muestra algo muy distinto en su lirica; trata la historia de una mujer cansada de que su marido la ignore todo el día al estar éste tocando día y noche su amado violín sin importarle descanzar, disfrutar e incluso reir o llorar, por esto la mujer desea poder ser un violín para que su hombre la ame y la acompañe todo el día, la escuche y que éste aprenda las verdaderas melodias del amor y la vida.

La segunda plaza, "Tigre" nos ofrece una canción rápida, rockera, fantasiosa, alegre, la lírica hace una comparación, y más bien una metafora, entre la vida del hombre y la del tigre, el hombre encerrado en una selva de cemento, lleno de angustias y oscuridad, que busca escapar de las carceles de su mente, y el tigre que representa la fuerza, el coraje y la libertad y una mirada capaz de desafiar a todos y obvervar a pesar de estar rodeado de penumbras y capaz de devorarse al mundo entero. La canción fue la pieza de abertura de la pelicula-documental de 1977, ABBA-The Movie, durante el tour que hizó el grupo en Australia en ese año.

"Dum Dum Diddle" a pesar de su liberación limitada, obtuvo algunos golpe menores en los Charts, principalmente en el mercado Latinoamericano, golpeando los Top Ten en Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, México, Uruguay y Venezuela.
