LA CANCION:
"Reina Danzante" es el decimoctavo sencillo de ABBA y es el hit más grande de la historia de grupo, por lo tanto es su canción de firma pues fue el primer sencillo que mostró el logo definitivo de ABBA, fue registrada durante su cuarto album en 1976, "Arrival". Fue escrita por Stig Anderson, Benny y Björn, que a través de un sonido espectante que hace alucinar, un sintetizador que hace vibrar un sonido envolvente de musica Disco, su teclado de apertura glissando, tarareando "ahes" vocales, acompañado por las voces megáfonicas de Agnetha y Frida cantando en tres octavas distintas, hacen de la "Reina Danzante" la canción más hermosa, y a la vez, la más trabajada en la historia del grupo, una de las secciones más identificables de la música pop de los años 1970 y que aún se mantiene en la actualidad. Fue liberado junto con el tema de tipo Country que apareció en éste mismo album, "Así Soy Yo" como su lado B.
Como la mayoría de las canciones de ABBA, la lírica de "Reina Danzante" es relativamente franca; trata sobre una muchacha de diecisiete años que decide escapar de casa para pasarlo bien un viernes por la noche. Ella no esta desconcertada por las presiones sociales y políticas de su vida diaria, sólo desea bailar, soñar y olvidar, ser una reina sobre la pista de baile, sin importarle la identidad de su compañero de baile.
Las sesiones de grabación de "Reina Danzante" comenzaron el 4 de Agosto de 1975; llamaron 'Boogaloo' a la demostración, Andersson y Ulvaeus se inspiraron en el ritmo de baile del clásico de estilo Disco de Jorge McCrae "Rock Your Baby", Agnetha y Frida registraron las voces en las sesiones de grabación de Septiembre, y la pista fue completada en Diciembre de aquel año.
"Reina Danzante" fue liberada en el Reino Unido el 6 de agosto de 1976, y en Suecia y Escandinavia el 16 de agosto. Se hizó el único Top One de ABBA, en los Charts americanos en abril de 1977, permaneciéndo en el número uno durante una semana. Ésta también golpeó el número uno en quince países por todo el mundo donde la ABBAmanía había alcanzado dimensiones épicas, haciéndose uno de los sencillos de mayor éxito de todos los tiempos.
